Tribute to Laura Sharman, 1980 - 2022

An exceptional ambassador for local government, Laura’s legacy will be a strong one. She will be sorely missed by everyone who worked with her.

You were a brilliant journalist and writer and such an important part of our industry, we'll miss you and send much love and support to your family and friends, from everybody at Mantis.

Unfortunately I only ever knew Laura by email but her enthusiasm and friendliness shone through everything! I was so shocked and saddened to hear she is no longer with us. Sincere condolences to her family and friends - she will be much missed.

I never knew laura personally, just on a work basis but she always replied to emails and was always friendly and enthusiastic. I wish I would have known her as her personality shone through her correspondence and it’s devastating to loose someone who it turns out was the same age as me. In the busy world of communications it’s rare to meet someone like Laura and I’m so sorry to hear of her passing.

Laura was always remarkably cheerful, positive and enthusiastic. Even during these last few months when she was undergoing treatment, Laura showed a keen interest and concern in the big things happening in other people’s lives. She was an excellent writer and always helpful colleague.
